Can St. Tropez be used during pregnancy?
Yes, our main tanning agent is dihydroxyacetone, which has no known toxicity. St. Tropez only works upon the uppermost layers of the skin and cannot get into the bloodstream from normal application. However, be aware that hormonal changes during pregnancy (especially during the first 3 months) may affect the development of the tan. Do not apply to the breast area if breastfeeding.
Can St. Tropez cover stretch marks or scars?
Yes, carefully apply St. Tropez Bronzing Lotion to the area with a cotton bud. Leave for at least 8 hours, wash away guide colour then apply your all-over tan as normal. If the tan is not dark enough, repeat approximately every 8 hours until the stretch mark or scar is disguised.
I have vitiligo, which means that uneven pigmentation in my skin gives me patches of colour, can St. Tropez help me disguise this?
A minimum of three hours
is required.
If I swim, will my
sunless tan go away?
St. Tropez will help to cover up Vitiligo. We recommend you apply St. Tropez Bronzing Lotion to the lighter areas as thickly as possible, dilute using St. Tropez Body Moisturiser and apply with a cotton bud to the darker edges if necessary. Then, allow to dry. Allow to develop, ideally overnight, before washing off the guide colour to reveal your tan. If the tan is not dark enough, repeat again.
Can pregnant or
nursing mothers use St. Tropez products?
We recommend that all pregnant and nursing women should seek advice from their GP when considering use of our products. You might also want to take the products with you when visiting your GP so he/she can take a look at all the ingredients to be able to advise you fully.
Will St. Tropez
stain my pajamas or sheets?
The Auto-Bronzant will stain some fabrics.
For example: nylon, silk, wool and polyester. However, a good soaking in water
will usually lift the Auto-Bronzant from the fabric. All other materials are
completely safe. If the Auto-Bronzant rubs off on any other fabric it will
simply wash out.
Will St. Tropez
stain my clothes?
Make sure that you apply Auto-Bronzant at night and
shower off the excess in the morning, before you get dressed. This will prevent
the Auto-Bronzant from getting on your clothes. If you happen to apply the
Auto-Bronzant during the day, please be aware that it will stain nylon, silk,
wool and polyester.
Why do I need a
Body Polisher - why can't I use a loofa?
Using the Body Polisher
insures smoother softer skin for the Auto-Bronzant application, resulting in an
even and longer lasting tan. If you do not use Body Polisher you will be tanning
skin that is about to fall off and your tan will quickly disappear. Loofas do
not conform to the body and will result in an uneven exfoliation creating a
"zebra" look to the self-tan.
Should I shave before
or after the St. Tropez application?
Shaving is a form of exfoliation
so you should shave before the application. Shaving after will take off some of
your tan, so shave before.
If I use St.
Tropez under my arms should I remove any deodorant?
Yes. For the best
result remove deodorant and moisturize under the arm. Then apply a small amount
of self-tanner. Wait 3 hours to reapply deodorant. It may turn green when
deodorant is reapplied. If so, the green will rinse off in the shower.
I like my St. Tropez
tan but I want it darker.
St. Tropez recommends that the
Auto-Bronzant be applied at night to receive the maximum color. The
Auto-Bronzant needs a minimum of 3 hours to deposit on the skin. However, the
longer it is left on the darker it will get. If you want it darker still,
reapply 3 nights consecutively.
I like my St. Tropez
tan just the way it is - how do I keep it?
Make sure you moisturize
every day. For optimum results use the St. Tropez Body Moisturizer. The
L-Tyrosine will activate your skin's melanin thereby creating a longer lasting
tan. To keep your St. Tropez tan at the desired shade, reapply once or twice a
week according to your liking.
Should I be scared
if my tan looks streaky as it's drying?
NO. Don't worry if you look
streaky as it's drying. This is normal. As long as you rubbed it to a creamy
consistency, have left it moist and have covered all the areas you wish to be
tan, you will be fine! The Auto-Bronzant is drying that is all. Resist your
temptation to rub it in or smooth it out. Once it is rinsed or buffed (in a spa
setting) off it will be beautiful. Trust us! |
